Things to note:
Did you know students can save money on TTC transit fares? To qualify, you need to have your photo taken for Post-Secondary Photo ID. Humber is hosting photo sessions on campus on September 24 (Lakeshore) and September 26 (North).
While the new Cultural Hub is a welcome addition to Lakeshore campus, it is confusing people who are trying to get from Building B to Building A. The college has put up new signage to help point the way.
Humber journalism students were busy Thursday with a multi-year mixer and scavenger hunt to help welcome back students. They're also starting to get ready for the official launch of our new website HumberETC on September 26. Stay tuned for details about a launch contest!
Upcoming Events
Drag your a** to school: IGNITE is hosting a drag show featuring Helena Poison, Ivory Towers and Makayla Couture next Thursday. It starts at noon, but if you want a good seat you'll want to get there early.
Humber's President's lecture series returns on September 19 with Dr. Randy Boyagoda. He's a Professor of English, and an advisor on civil discourse from the University of Toronto.
Sports
Humber's Varsity sports season gets underway with the first games of the season tonight. Both the women and men's soccer teams are heading to Welland for games against Niagara College. Meanwhile, the men's volleyball team has named its final roster.
Next Friday is Humber's Alumni Blue Jays game. Humber has booked the entire WestJet Flight deck for the September 13th game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Tickets are buy-three, get one free.
Volunteers Wanted
The Humber Arboretum is looking for nature lovers wanting to take part in its Ambassador in Training program. Come out for a nature walk to learn more about the opportunities on Tuesday, September 17 at 12:30 PM.
Nuit Blanche returns on October 5th. Humber Galleries is looking for volunteers to help guide visitors to the installation at the Lakeshore campus.
