Watch Stephen Chamberlain's report from the Artemis II space launch party held at the Indus Space Centre in Mississauga.
Space aficionados, young and old, gathered to celebrate the milestone event, which saw NASA launch a rocket sending four astronauts (including Canadian Jeremy Hansen) to the moon and back.
In addition to the launch, interactive stations were set up as a fun way for people to engage with the various elements of the Artemis II mission, including a maneuverable LEGO model of the spacecraft.
Dr. Bhairavi Shanker founded the Indus Space Centre to encourage young people to learn about the space sector holistically, including the offshoot industries that support it, from geologists to spacesuit designers.
