Hawks men's basketball stay golden as they roll over Conestoga

Humber Hawks men's basketball are now 15-0 on the season with a huge win over the Conestoga Condors on Jan. 22.

The Humber Hawks men’s basketball team continues to dominate the court, proving they are the team to beat this season.

The Hawks crushed the Conestoga Condors 108-69 on Jan. 22, extending its undefeated record to 15-0. Their dominant performance keeps them at No. 1 in the CCAA rankings.

They have shown consistency and determination all season. Each game reinforces their reputation as an elite squad, making them a difficult team to compete against at any level.

Humber’s fast-paced play overwhelmed Conestoga from the start. Their relentless offence and disciplined defence left the Condors with no momentum, limiting their ability to respond.

They capitalized on turnovers and executed their game plan with precision. The Hawks left no doubt about their superiority with a strong all-around performance on the court.

Power forward Malik Grant was unstoppable on his way to a double-double, finishing with 42 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. His aggressive play made it difficult for Conestoga to contain him.

“It was one of those nights where everything was falling,” Grant said. “But it’s about how we play together. We moved the ball, attacked, and kept pushing.”

“Everyone contributed, and that’s why we won so convincingly,” he said. Grant’s performance was just one part of an all-around dominant team effort by the Hawks.

Grant credited his teammates for their support and execution, noting that their ability to work as a unit made the game easier for everyone involved.

“We trust each other on and off the court,” he said. “That chemistry keeps us going, and it’s why we haven’t lost a game.”

Guard Jalen Menzies emphasized the team’s chemistry and commitment to their ultimate goal. He said the Hawks’ camaraderie has been crucial to their consistent success.

“We’re locked in, plain and simple,” Menzies said. “Everyone knows their role, trusts each other, and pushes each other to be better. That’s why we’re here.”

The Hawks’ success comes from teamwork, discipline, and an aggressive but controlled playing style. Their depth and versatility make them a nightmare for opponents.

Every player contributes, making them an unpredictable and dangerous team. The ability of different players to step up has been a key factor this season.

With Humber sitting atop the rankings, they know staying undefeated will be tough. However, the Hawks are embracing the challenge and using it as motivation. They are aware that every team they face will bring their best effort. Despite this, they refuse to let that pressure affect their focus.

“We’re chasing something bigger than an undefeated season,” Menzies said. “We want that championship and plan on finishing the job.”

The Hawks remain focused and determined as they prepare for their next match and are proving they are a force to be reckoned with this season.
