The Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery (ECCAG), in partnership with Humber Polytechnic Arts Administration and Cultural Management program and the City of Toronto, proudly announces the New Vista’s mixed-media exhibition alder for the heart. Beginning on December 3, 2025, this year’s exhibition explores themes of self, memory, and place within Etobicoke/Adobigok and the Greater Toronto Area through a dynamic mixed media presentation.
alder for the heart showcases emerging artists from Etobicoke/Adobigok and across the GTA whose work reflects on the deep interconnections between identity, ecology, ancestry, and the urban landscape. The exhibition features a diverse range of media including painting, digital art, sculpture, and spoken word performance.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery. The event will include over 30 works of art, an awards presentation, artist talks by selected winners, and a live spoken word performance by poet Amana Park. Light refreshments will be provided, and all community members are invited to attend.
Curated and organized by the 2025/2026 cohort of Humber’s Arts Administration and Cultural Management (AACM) program, this exhibition represents the culmination of the students’ fall semester project. Each year, the New Vista’s Project challenges the AACM cohort to develop a unique theme, structure, and visitor experience, offering students valuable hands-on curatorial and administrative experience while providing fresh and innovative programming for ECCAG.
The New Vista’s Project is an annual exhibition series dedicated to spotlighting emerging artists from culturally diverse backgrounds and artistic disciplines. Through this ongoing partnership, ECCAG and Humber Polytechnic continue to support and uplift the next generation of artists and arts administrators in Toronto.
