An arrest has been made after a midday crash in South Etobicoke on Thursday.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Browns Line and Rimilton Avenue at 1:38 p.m. for reports of a person injury collision.
The driver of a red Toyota Corolla hatchback was travelling northbound on Browns Line before veering into oncoming traffic and into a bus shelter, leaving only the frame standing.
Five police cruisers, an ambulance and a tow truck were all on scene and only one lane of traffic was open for vehicles to pass through.
In an interview over the phone, Toronto Police media relations officer Amy Davey said that the driver was arrested at the scene, and their charges are not known at this time.
Davey also said that “alcohol may have been a factor” in the collision.
Davey said no injuries were reported.
The investigation is still ongoing and the intersection has since been reopened.
